Step 1: Answer the questions below to the best of your ability.
Presume the person completing the questions should ALWAYS BE THE STUDENT, meaning the one who is interested in enrolling at UWF.
Your responses will be used to calculate an estimated annual cost of attending UWF.
Step : Questions on this page represent significant differences when completing the financial aid process. Essentially, the questions directly correlate to the federal definitions of "dependent student" or "independent student," which plays a large role in the amount of federal aid that is available. A student's dependency status is not something the student can "choose." The federal government has particular qualifications that must be met.

4 things to know about using this Net Price Calculator properly:
- Actual cost of attending the University of West Florida (UWF) is calculated using a series of complicated variables. These variables provide numerous possible outcomes such that each potential student really does receive a "cost" relative to their individual circumstances.
- Financial need can only be established through the submission of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA, available online at fafsa.ed.gov). Because the results of the FAFSA lead to student-specific results, there exists no way to estimate the impact of financial aid within the Net Price Calculator.
- Scholarships at UWF are awarded as merit-based (academic or athletic), financial need-based, or a combination of the two. In either case, the Net Price Calculator cannot predict which students will receive these scholarships from the pool of qualified applicants each year.
- Please understand that to use the Net Price Calculator, you must agree that the estimates that result are not binding to UWF, the Florida Board of Governors, the Florida Department of Education, the Florida legislature, the Governor of the state of Florida, nor the Secretary of Education at either the state or federal level.
Note: Any information that you provide on this site is confidential. The Net Price Calculator does not store your responses or ask for personal identifying information of any kind.

Please note that tuition and fees are set by the Board of Trustees during the summer for the next academic year.
This estimate applies to an undergraduate student pursuing full-time study toward a first-time degree or certification at UWF
during the academic term identified.
This estimate does not represent a final determination of financial assistance. Not all students receive financial aid. In 2010-11,
88% of our full-time students enrolling for college for the first time received grant/scholarship aid. This estimate
does not represent a final net price to enroll. The Net Price Calculator provides future students and families with a base-level
perspective on what were/are typical prices associated with enrolling at UWF during the academic term identified on the estimate.
These estimates shall not be binding to UWF, the Florida Board of Governors, the Florida Department of Education, the Florida
legislature, the Governor of the state of Florida, nor the Secretary of Education at either the state or federal level.
Part of this estimate includes information typically contained within the financial aid application (FAFSA). This estimate does
not serve as a replacement for completing the financial aid application (fafsa.ed.gov).
Not all students apply for financial aid. While UWF does recommend all students apply for financial aid, the decision to apply remains
with the students and their families.
Students can apply for financial aid as of January 1 for the academic year that begins with the fall term of the same calendar year.
Academic years are identified at UWF as a 3-term calendar to include fall (starting in August), spring (starting in January), and summer
(starting in May). Students must also be admitted to UWF as a degree-seeking candidate before they can be offered a financial aid package.
