Reward and Recognition is critical to the success of the University of West Florida. On-the-Spot recognition empowers employees because their contributions are acknowledged and appreciated at the time of the event.
Recognition and Reward programs motivate employees to continually improve, to be innovative, manage resources creatively, to set high standards and goals and to work together in teams.
This award provides for immediate recognition to the recipient based on demonstration of the university’s values and standards through specific actions or contributions. One of the best examples for providing immediate recognition is when the value of outstanding customer service is demonstrated.
On-the-Spot recognition, given at the time of the event, creates a positive environment that fosters improved performance. Spontaneous recognition is motivating and provides immediate positive feedback, while building a strong, positive culture based on respect, recognition and a dedication to excellence.
On-the-Spot recognition may be given by any faculty, staff or student to another university employee (faculty, staff or student) for immediate recognition based on demonstration of the university values and standards through specific actions or contributions. A good way to present an On-the-Spot recognition sticker is to enclose it in an Excellence Matters Note card.
