I am a broad-based physical geographer with research interests in geography of soils, pollution of sediments in estuaries, and environmental soil science. GIS-based spatial analyses are part of most of my research. I have extensive experience with field mapping and surveying methods, and physical and chemical analyses of soils and sediments. Recent research projects have focused on organic carbon pools in soils, chemical pollution of sediments in stormwater retention ponds and in urban bayous along the Gulf Coast, and trace metals in surface soils. My research has been funded, among others, by NSF, GSA, USDA, EPA, and Florida Center for Solid and Hazardous Waste Management.
