“Mi Barrio” is a university wide event created by Spanish instructor Laura Arguea, as a response to several requests from students, staff, and faculty over the years, to practice the language beyond the classroom setting. "Mi Barrio" is the Spanish translation of My Neighborhood. The first “Mi Barrio” was held in the Spring 2006, and since then, “Mi Barrio” has been offering a variety of language and culture activities, organized by students, faculty, and staff.
“Mi Barrio” offers you a place to communicate in Spanish in a relaxed atmosphere, while interacting with native speakers, and learning about other cultures.
