Maria Warren received her B.S. from Florida State University and her M.A. in English from University of West Florida, where she served as Director of Composition from 1994 to 2002. In 1995, she received a State of Florida grant to complete her doctoral coursework in English Education at Florida State University. She edited the Comp II textbook Writing in College and Beyond (Pearson Custom Publishing 2002) and has presented papers at the Conference on College Composition/Communication and the Association for Business Communication. She developed new courses in technical writing and has taught professional writing, expository writing, and English Composition I and II. She was among the first instructors to develop online courses at UWF and has taught online within WebCT, Prometheus, and Elearning platforms. She now teaches online ENC 3240 Technical Writing and serves as chair of the Online Course Development Committee, Department of English and Foreign Languages.
