UWF Emerald Coast Campus Parking Attention All UWF Emerald Coast Students: Campus Security at the Joint UWF-NWFSC Campus has resumed writing tickets for parking in Faculty/Staff parking spaces without the proper decal and for failure to display a UWF or UWF Emerald Coast parking decal or hang tag. If you do not have a UWF or UWF Emerald Coast parking decal or hang tag, you should obtain one as soon as possible to avoid being issued a $25 parking ticket. Parking permits for UWF Emerald Coast and the main campus can be obtained from the UWF Cashier’s Office located in Bldg 1 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. There is no charge for UWF Emerald Coast parking decals, however, they are not valid for parking at the main UWF Campus. If you will be attending classes at the main campus, you must purchase the UWF decal or hang tag at a cost of $15 per semester or $30 for the academic school year (Fall through Summer). The paid UWF decals/hang tags are also valid at the Joint UWF-NWFSC Campus. If you are enrolled in a major offered at any of the Emerald Coast campuses and you are forced to take a class at the main campus because it is not offered at any of the Emerald Coast campuses, you may be entitled to a parking permit discount of 50% off the annual parking fee. In order to receive this discount, you must pick up a validated letter of entitlement from the UWF Student Services Office located in Bldg 2, Room 201 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Combs Joint Press Release PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida (UWF) and the Okaloosa County School District are working jointly to transfer administration of the UWF/ W.E. Combs School Campus back to the Okaloosa County School District. Superintendent Alexis Tibbetts will make the recommendation to transfer administration of the campus at the next school board meeting. UWF has leased the W.E. Combs property since 2005 from the Okaloosa County School District as an extension of its presence on the Emerald Coast. UWF has provided maintenance and upgrades since that time. “I hope UWF’s significant investments and care of the property will provide for an easy transition as the school district redeploys the facility,” said President Judy Bense. The recommendation to revert the property back to the district’s administration comes from an independent study of UWF’s Emerald Coast operations concluded this spring by MGT Consultants. “The University of West Florida and the Okaloosa School District enjoy a great working relationship and look forward to many other educational endeavors together,” said Superintendent Tibbetts. The district plans to extend a lease option to the Economic Development Council (EDC) who currently has an established Incubator Program at the location. Additionally, the district may also establish a voluntary pre-kindergarten (VPK) program at W.E Combs School beginning next school year and offer summer remediation for neighborhood children.
