Alpha Sigma Lambda Honors Society The Alpha Sigma Lambda Honors Society will grant seven scholarships for the 2010-2011 academic year, 4 $1200 and 3 $1500 scholarships. All awards granted for the 2010-2011 academic year are to assist with undergraduate expenses for students enrolled during that time. To be eligible for consideration students must: -- Be currently attending undergraduate classes at UWF. -- Have completed at least 30 semester hours at UWF, do not include accepted transfer credits. -- Have a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.2 You must be currently attending classes at UWF but do not have to be an inducted members of the chapter. Student should complete the student packet, secure a letter of recommendation from a faculty member, request an official transcript be sent to UWF Emerald Coast Dean, Dr. John Azzaretto and give the completed packet to the UWF Emerald Coast Dean for verification and mailing. For more information contact Ester Molder, 863-6575, emolder@uwf.edu ‘READY TO WORK’ INFORMATION SESSIONS: MARCH 17 & 18 The Workforce Development Board of Okaloosa and Walton Counties and UWF have joined together to promote the Florida Ready to Work Program, a career readiness credentialing program that is sponsored and funded by the State of Florida. Information sessions will be held on March 17 from 5:00- 6:00 PM at the UWF Combs Campus (building 3, room 3011), March 18 from 12:00- 1:00 PM at the REEF Campus (room 119) and from 5:00 – 6:00 PM at the Fort Walton Beach Campus (building 7, room 701). Testing will be on April 12 at the Fort Walton Beach Campus at 9:00 AM. INTERNSHIP INFORMATION SESSION: MARCH 31 UWF Career Services will host an Internship Information Session 31 March from 11am to noon in Building 251, room 111 (502 West D Avenue) Right now is the perfect time to start looking for a summer internship!
