Programs
The fun and exciting staff at Wellness Services and the peer educators offer many excellent programs and workshops available for facilitation in your classroom, group organization, or resident hall. Listed below are some descriptions of fun interactive programs that can be requested in our outreach programming section. In order to request a program, stop by building 19 to fill out a form, email us at wellness@uwf.edu, or fill out a program request form on our website.Click here for advice on how to improve attendance at specially requested programs.
Alcohol Programs
- Facts on Tap- The program equips students with the knowledge they need to make responsible decisions when dealing with alcohol. Discussion includes harm reduction strategies and an interactive standard drink pouring exercise.
- Alcohol Jeopardy- This fun, interactive seminar teaches students about safe blood alcohol levels, social norms, alcohol poisoning, harm reduction strategies and more.
- Boozin' Bingo- This bingo style game covers a little of everything giving students the opportunity to learn about alcohol & it's resulting effects.
- Mind the Gap- How much do college students really party? Come find out using interactive clicker technology. Also, learn low risk drinking strategies and find out what your peers think about them!
- Supplemental Activity: The Tiki Bar- This fun, interactive activity teaches participants how to pour the standard drink amount for five different types of alcoholic beverages.
Sexual Health Programs
- Condom Bingo- This is not your mother’s bingo! This bingo-styled question and answer game involves discussion regarding various sexual health issues such as contraception, STI’s,sexual assault and the importance of healthy relationships.
- Patches & Shots & Pills, Oh my!- Participants learn how various contraceptive methods work, the pros and cons & how one can obtain them if they need it.
- What’s Up Down There?- Participants will learn the signs, symptoms and treatment for common STI’s.
- Sex & Chocolate-This program allows men & women to talk honestly about sex by asking each other questions they have always wanted to know. Facilitator helps to guide conversation and provide chocolate!
- Sex on the Big Screen-Watch these scenes before doing the deed! Think you can't learn anything from you favorite movies and television shows? Think again! Enjoy hilarious "sex" scenes from Hollywood's top films and TV programs. Not only will you laugh your head off, you'll learn how to be sexually safer and smarter!
- Supplemental Activities
- Sex Jeopardy- Participants will learn facts on STI’s and contraception. It’s a blast!
- Condom Line Up- Participants learn the proper way to use a condom. This program is interactive, informative and fun. A condom demonstration is also included.
Sexual Assault Prevention Programs
- Mixed Messages- Alcohol, Consent, & Sex- Participants learn what sexual assault is, the legal definition and how to prevent it and what to do if it occurs.
- What is RISK-aay? This program covers the risks and influences of sexual violence and outlines strategies to reduce the risk of being sexually assaulted.
- Clickety Clack- Just Fight Back- Together men and women will end sexual violence- help us fight back! Come click through issues related to sexual assualt at UWF. Students will be able to anonymously share their opinions related to the topic and discuss related issues.
- The Age of Consent- This program uses various videos and scenarios to help work through issues related to dating, sex, and consent. It's designed to use discussion to encourage a social self-reflection on what can happen when we mix booze with booty.
Additional Programs
- Drinking, Drugs, & Doin' Stuff- This jeopardy style program covers topics related to holiday breaks or spring break. Don’t let your peers leave without seeing this great program!
- Up in Smoke- Did you know that 1/4 of all college students begin to smoke at some point during their college years? Let's support a tobacco free campus. Come and learn about strategies that will help you deal with tobacco use on and off campus.
- Do More Than Change The Channel-This program was created for Greek organizations and is meant to help facilitate discussion within the chapter about group norms, alcohol, and sex.
Awareness Weeks
These include creative programming, informative booths, speakers, food, giveaways, and many activities that encourage student involvement. Social Norms Campaign
This campaign aims to correct common misconceptions that students have about the drinking culture on campus. Look for signs throughout campus for more information.
Condom Crew
Our condom crew fills machines in designated campus restrooms across campus. These areas are places you can get free condoms and know that they are safe and effective.
Visit this locations for FREE condoms:
- Restrooms in Argo Galley, Bldg. 22
- Restrooms in the Library, Bldg. 32
- Restrooms in the Computer Lab (lower level), Bldg. 79
- Restrooms in the Recreation Center (upstairs), Bldg 72
- Health Center, Bldg. 63
Rapid Response HIV Testing
This service is FREE and confidential. Results are given within 20 minutes! Testing generally takes place monthly upstairs in the Commons or in a Mobile Unit on the Cannon Lawns. We will resume testing on the Fall 2010. If you need to get tested feel free to visit our Student Health Center (474-2172), AIDS Healthcare Foundation (470-8071)
, or the Escambia County Health Department (595-6500).

Educational Material- Wellness Services is dedicated to getting material out to students in many ways. If you are would like to request educational material please fill out a form so we can gather the information and provide it to you and your peers.
Bulletin Boards- You are lucky! We have already done the work for you-RAs and others can pick up pre-made bulletin boards to display on a variety of subjects. Click here to order your bulletin board.
