It is important to recognize that most students choose not to drink irresponsibly, and those who drink to excess put themselves at high-risk for negative consequences. We are excited our campus campus will join more than 1,000 colleges and universities in the United States who recognize the importance of campus prevention efforts addressing alcohol abuse and impaired driving prevention. We are dedicated to making campuses safer and more enjoyable for everyone. From campus security, to fraternities and sororities, athletics, residence halls, and peer education programs, we all have a vested interest in making NCAAW activities a meaningful part of year-round prevention efforts. National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week (NCAAW) takes place the last week in October each year. The goal is to provide students with valuable information about self protection strategies to reduce alcohol abuse and misuse. The events vary each year and range from fun and entertaining to moving and serious.
Last year we gave away a free bike donated from Bikes Plus valued at $500 during Princess Leia’s Boozin’ Bingo! Greek organizations and Student organizations competed for a trophy and gift certificate for the best booth. Free food and ice cream sundaes were given away to participants of Oktsoberfest..mmmm! Congratulations to Delta Sigma Theta for receiving first place!
