Lindsey Greeson
Coordinator, Health Promotions
Shortly after moving to Pensacola to pursue my Masters in Community Health Education, I began working for Counseling & Wellness as a graduate assistant. I loved working here and gained rich experience in health promotion related to alcohol use, misuse, and abuse, sexual assault prevention, and sexual health promotion. During that time, I enjoyed being the Peer Educator Advisor where I trained and directed a group of student volunteers in order to positively impact our campus.
After receiving my masters in May of 2009, I began working as the Coordinator for Health Promotion Services. I obtained my credentialing as a Certified Health Education Specialist in April 2007 and continue to pursue my passion in health education. My role at UWF involves developing and sharing information about health and health services for all students at the university. I am proud of the commitment we have to providing preventive education to such a large and diverse community of students, staff, and faculty.
Currently, I am still the UWF Peer Educator Advisor and love it! Students who have the desire to be leaders in this world, deserve support. Another part of my job includes overseeing sexual health promotion on campus including STI/STD prevention, HIV testing, contraception education, and support for abstinent students. My work also focuses on reducing the harm associated with sexual assault and alcohol misuse in the college setting.
