Mental Health Counseling Intern
I am currently a Mental Health Counseling Intern and am excited to be working at Counseling and Psychological Services. My focus in therapy is Humanistic and Phenomenological. I believe we all share similar experiences as a part of being human, and those experiences are also unique to each individual at the same time. I view my role in therapy as being to provide a safe and open environment to explore the client's world with them. Part of that exploration is to work on understanding the self and how we negotiate the relationship between self and others, whether interpersonally, socially, or intrapersonally. I believe therapy can provide new insights, experiences, and ways to begin to explore, examine, and grow, whether that means to change, uncover, or get in touch with what feels true and authentic.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Guilford College in North Carolina and am currently in the final year of my Master's in Counseling Psychology at UWF. My interests are in Buddhist Psychology, emotions, the here-and-now, direct experiencing, and how we make sense of our world.
