Hot Shop is the competitive division of UWF's Ad Club. It competes each year in the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) sponsored by the Education Services division and the Academic Committee of the American Advertising Federation. More 6800 students on 210 college and university campuses took up the gauntlet in academic year 2003-2004 and particpated in the NSAC.
Each year, a corporate sponsor provides a case study or assignment which provides a real world advertising challenge for the advertising competition. Students involved in the competition must conduct original research to solve the advertising problem, producing an inetgrated marketing communication campaign for the corporate sponsor.
Colleges and universities take part in regional and, if talent permits, national competition based on the case assignment. The case assignment for academic year 2004-2005 is a campaign for Yahoo!, Inc.
Students who wish to particpate in Hot Shop in Spring term 2005 should contact Dr. Steele as soon as possible. Hot Shop is a permission-only course. Students must have ample academic preparation before enrolling in the course, which is designated as ADV 4801C. However, some students may choose to volunteer their talents without enrolling in the course. If you would like to particpate without enrolling in the course, you are still required to obtain permission.
Hot Shop has a venerable tradition at the University of West Florida:

| 1997 | NSAC National Champion |
