Operations of the College of Business are conducted in conformity to the:

• Laws of the State of Florida.
• Rules in the Florida Administrative Code.
• Requirements of the Florida Board of Governors, State University System.
• Regulations of the UWF Board of Trustees.
• Policies and procedures of The University of West Florida.
• Provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Within the University, the principal governance organizations pertaining to the operations of the College include:

• Faculty Senate (curriculum changes, faculty policies).
• Faculty Personnel Committee (promotion and tenure).
• University Planning Council (University-level strategic plan).
• University Budget Council (University-level budget considerations).
• Scholarly and Creative Activities Committee.
• Growth and Development Committee (faculty development).

The College has faculty representatives on each of these committees and councils.

The College operates within a set of By-Laws (PDF) and uses a committee system to bring faculty recommendations to the Dean. These committees include:

Additionally, the College receives student input through the Student Advisory Council (PDF) and from regional business representatives through the Business Advisory Council (PDF).

The Dean meets regularly with the College's Administrative Team (PDF) to review recommendations coming forward and to coordinate assignments for implementation of approved recommendations.
