Helen Wentworth presented the UWF Department of Music with a significant gift which allowed the purchase of 18 Steinway pianos (10 grand pianos and eight uprights). Her generous gift allowed UWF to claim the prestigious designation of an "All-Steinway School." The remainder of the gift will initiate a "Steinway Piano Foundation" endowment ensuring the future maintenance, repair and restoration of the pianos for many years to come. This gift represents one of the largest cash donations by a living person to the UWF Foundation.
K. C. and Lori Clark have committed $100,000 to the UWF Foundation in support of the university's Archaeology Program. K. C. is an alumnus and chair of the University of West Florida Board of Trustees and Lori is a Pensacola native. The funds will specifically aid the underwater archaeology program and provide resources for further program development.
The William D. Smart Seminar Series in Chemistry has been established at the University of West Florida thanks to an endowment gift of $100,000 from William and Mary Smart of Pensacola.
