Am I required to attend Transfer Orientation?
Yes.
How do I find my advisor?
Transfer students (sophomores, juniors, and seniors) will find their assigned academic advisor in the academic department of their declared majors. Transfer students who have not declared a major should contact the University Advising Center.
Can I register without seeing an advisor?
New transfer students may not register without seeing their assigned advisors. An “academic advising hold” will prevent registration to ensure that you get appropriate guidance on your chosen path at UWF. Returning transfer students may have an “academic advising hold” to prevent registration, depending on the policy of the major department. Please contact your academic advisor for additional information and guidance.
What is the purpose of an academic advising “hold” on registration?
An academic advising hold ensures that you connect with an advisor who can provide the best guidance to support your plan. Academic advising holds are not meant to be punitive. The restriction should help you complete your degree efficiently so that you won’t waste your time or money.
Are there other kinds of holds?
Yes. Your registration can be blocked under these other conditions that do not related to academics:
- Immunizations
- Financial
- Parking fines
How do I make an appointment with my assigned advisor?
Returning Student
To access your academic advisor contact information, you must activate your MYUWF account.
After your MYUWF account is activated and you are logged in, please follow the instructions below:
- Type SASS Degree Audit in the MYUWF searchbar
- Click the "SASS Degree Audit" app
- You will find a block on the audit that looks like this:

New Student
- Activate your MyUWF account to contact your academic advisor and register for classes. As a new UWF student, you will need to activate your online student account which provides access to registration.
- Please also visit the REGISTRATION and DEGREE PLANNING sections for additional registration and course selection information.
- To access your academic advisor contact information, you must activate your Lighthouse account.
After your Lighthouse account is activated, use the following instructions:
- Locate your SASS Degree Audit on the MYINFO tab.
- Click the SASS Degree Audit link.
- You will find a block on the audit that looks like this:
