About the UWF

Campus Action Project

The CAP at UWF was completed through the involvement of several teams. The research team conducted an online survey and studied the results to determine what areas to focus on, namely education about salary negotiation. The rollout team was involved with the planning of the Rollout event on 24 April, 2007. The publication team designed and created the publication (available for download in the media section of this website).

The event was funded through AAUW grants as a part of their efforts to "Promote an Economically Secure Future for Women." UWF was awarded one of only ten grants available from the AAUW.

The starting point for the project was to develop an understanding of how the community perceived the issue, especially at UWF. UWF itself enrolls almost 10,000 students, 60% of which are female.

Ultimately, the publication was designed to publish the survey results, help educate women about negotiation for competitve wages, and how to reserach prospective employers.

This project isn't the solution, but we are committed to finding a resoltuion to this inequity.
