The Business Process Office (BPO) is a "virtual office," or cross-functional collaboration, coordinated by the Chief Information Officer. The purpose of the BPO is to facilitate UWF's initiatives to improve the quality, responsiveness, effectiveness, and efficiency of transaction processing at the university, with primary emphasis on four goals:
On June 22, 2007 President Cavanaugh announced to the university "a university-wide effort to streamline and reexamine our business processes and implement a data warehouse that will support the integration of planning and budget and the new culture of evidence and accountability that is being required of all public universities." He charged the senior associate vice president of University Affairs with heading that effort.
