Part of the College of Professional Studies, UWF Army ROTC is a High Adventure Program designed to teach communications and leadership while emphasizing physical conditioning and teamwork. Although no JROTC experience is required, JROTC cadets from all service branches will quickly find themselves feeling like part of the family. Freshmen participate in physical fitness, land navigation, paint ball, water survival, M-16 live fire, rappel training and helicopter rides (and that is just the first semester).
Army ROTC scholarships to attend UWF are available and we are happy to answer any of your questions about the process. Minimum GPA to apply for a scholarship is a 2.5 and the minimum ACT score is a 19. UWF also provides the Army ROTC programs at Northwest Florida State College and Pensacola State College. Army ROTC scholarships may also be availble for our students at those schools.
Active Duty, National Guard and Reserve Soldiers also find ROTC is an excellent way to become an officer. UWF Army ROTC participates in both the Green to Gold (G2G) and Simultanious Membership Programs (SMP).
