What is Argo Camp?

Argo Camp is a supplementary, but optional extended orientation program geared towards our incoming freshman class. We offer a three-day two-night experience where students will be given the opportunity to establish life-long friendships and build social networks with not only their peers, but currently enrolled UWF students as well as professional faculty and staff.

In addition, Argo Camp gives those students who attend an edge on what it is like to be a student at the University of West Florida. Our student as well as professional staff members continues to get Freshman connected to campus, promote acceptance of diverse cultures, and experiences that other universities may not provide.

Why should my student go to Argo Camp?

Argo Camp is for first time in college students to have one of the greatest experiences of their college career before their first semester at the University of West Florida begins. At Argo Camp, students will be able to interact with current UWF students in a more relaxed, communal environment as well as meet faculty from various departments about campus life and academics. Additionally, statistics have shown that those students who attend Argo Camp are more likely to be involved on campus as well asreach out to other students.

Argo Camp is a place where we assist with any emotional and social changes your student may be going through during their transition from high school to college.  After attending Argo Camp, students will have numerous friends before even starting their first semester at UWF!

What happens at Argo Camp?

There will be various socials, a skit competition, team building exercises, relaxing and swimming in the lake (THE BLOB!), great meals, snacks, and plenty of water all day and night. We also have a lot of fun surprises that your students will find out once they get to Argo Camp! Trust us, there will be plenty to do!
