At the time of the project, John "Jay" Clune was an Assistant Professor of History at the University of West Florida. He received his M.A. in Latin American Studies from the University of Alabama and his Ph.D. in History from Louisiana State University. He is now the Chair of the History Department at UWF. His research interests include the Spanish Caribbean and Spanish Florida.
