Dr. Judy Bense received her B.A. and M.A. in Anthropology from Florida State University and her Ph.D. from Washington State University in Anthropology/Archaeology. During the project, Dr. Bense was a Professor of Anthropology, Director of the Archaeology Institute at the University of West Florida and the City Archaeologist for Pensacola. She is still a Professor of Anthropology and now the Executive Director of the Anthropology and Archaeology Division at UWF. She has been at the university since 1977 and has done a combination of academic teaching, research and contract archaeology primarily in Florida, Alabama and Mississippi. She has written several books, articles in professional journals, chapters in several edited works and scores of professional reports on prehistoric and historic archaeology in the Southeast. |
