Kendra Kennedy graduated with a B.A. in Anthropology, French and Computer Applications from the University of Notre Dame. She has excavated in Indiana, Michigan (Fort Michilimackinac), and Virginia and has worked at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago and the Snite Museum of Art at Notre Dame. She studied abroad in France and taught English there after graduating. Her interests include the interaction of Africans, Europeans and Native Americans during the colonial period as well as the use of remote sensing in maritime archaeology. She works for the department as web designer and research assistant. She is currently involved in testing excavations on the second Emanuel Point shipwreck and remote sensing survey in Pensacola Bay. Her thesis will investigate the historic maritime landscape of the Pensacola Waterfront. Degree and focus: Historical Archaeology, Maritime.
