Bob Rutledge received his B.A. in Chemistry from Bemidji State University in
northern Minnesota, and recently, another B.A. in Anthropology from The University
of West Florida. After retirement from a career in social work and military service
with the U.S. Navy, graduate studies in Maritime Archaeology present interesting
and unique challenges. My field work includes two summer field schools in scientific
diving, and a session of terrestrial training at the Arcadia Mill site project. My thesis
work will involve a survey of the McDavid shipwreck, the riverine environment in the
Escambia River Basin, and the cultural influences on, and interactions between people
and waterways. Degree and focus: Historical Archaeology, Maritime.
