Article 5
Committees
- Committees shall be established as necessary to accomplish the mission of the Council:
- Emergency committees shall be created as necessary to deal with specific issues and concerns that can likely be resolved in a foreseeable time frame
- Standing committees shall be created and maintained to deal with ongoing issues and concerns that either is of a recurring nature or that can not likely be resolved in a foreseeable time frame. Standing committees shall be listed in this document as they are developed
- The standing committees and their charges:
- Public affairs:
- Setting up fund raising
- Maintaining good relations with the student body
- In charge of social events.
- Recruiting:
- Finding new members to join
- Encouraging people to join
- Mischief:
- self explanatory
- Community Service:
- To maintain the brothers' involvement in community service
- Public affairs:
Article 6
Finances
- Dues:
- To be set by the Officers at the first meeting of each semester. Currently:
- Brotherhood Dues: $40
- Pledge Dues: $75 (includes $15 initiation fee and $10 shirt fee)
- To be set by the Officers at the first meeting of each semester. Currently:
- Fund raising:
- All money from fund raising is to be given to the Treasurer after the fundraiser is over
- All monies must be accounted for by subsequent chapter meeting
- Bank Account:
- The officers of the fraternity are the only members authorized to deposit or withdrawl from the account.
- Two officers must approve any withdrawl from account
- Treasurer:
- At each chapter a report will be submitted to the President
- 2. If the report is incorrect in any way the treasurer must complete another
Article 7
Alcholic Beverages
- No money from the treasury shall be used for the purchase of alcoholic beverages
- ONLY exception is for events where alcohol is sanctioned (by all officers), and fees/funds are established to completely repay the treasury for the costs of alcohol. Any occasion where money is not completely repaid, the brothers shall equally split the monetary responsibility of the remaining difference.
Article 8
Expulsion, Probation, and Fines
- Conduct unbecoming a brother, as determined by vote:
- Embarrassing the fraternity under the eyes of the officers
- Grades:
- Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0
- Under a 1.5 for a semester equals probation
- Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0
- Fines:
- Skipping chapter/meeting (unexcused) - $10.00
- Swearing during chapter - $3.00
- Late to chapter (unexcused) - $4.00
- If over half (according to total time of meeting) is missed - $8.00
- Disrupting chapter - $1.00
- Skipping events (unexcused) - $15.00
- A Brother must attend at least 75% of active events approved by an officer due to reason beyond one's control otherwise a fine will be tacted on (see Fines 5).
- Probationary review committee:
- can be established by any active brothers and at least 2 officers (one must be the president or vice president) for the purpose of evaluating probation and expulsion of a brother
- expulsion must be confirmed by a vote of all active brothers
