UWF Logistics Team Places Second In Nation

Four University of West Florida marketing students traveled to Denver<= /st1:place> Jan. 25 through 27 to compete in the national supply chain and logistics = case competition, "Operation Stimulus," hosted by the Denver Transportation Club. The team placed second, beating nine other teams from Michigan State University, Syracuse University, University of Arkansas, T= exas Christian University, Colorado State University, University of Houston, University of Denver (two teams) and Georgia Southern University and coming within one percent of Ohio State University and fir= st place. Al= umni Awards- The University of West Florida National Alumni Association proudly announces its call for nominations for our Annual Awards and Recognition Program. We are now accepting your nomina= tions of those who make a difference to the National Alumni Association, the Un= iversity, and/or their respective communities. Those eligible for nomination include alumni, friends, faculty and staff of the university.

Rosasco = Gift To Establish Conference Room In Maritime Museum

TheU= niversity of West Florida has announced that in recognition of a $100,000 gift from Robert C. (Bob) Rosasco of Pensacola, a conference room in the Admiral Jo= hn H. Fetterman State of Florida Maritime Museum and = Research Center will be named in honor of Albert T. and William S. Rosasco. The "Ros= asco Brothers Conference Room" will host meetings of community organizati= ons, visiting scholars and dignitaries, the museum's advisory group and semina= rs related to maritime studies, public history and archaeology.

&quo= t;Establishing a named space or exhibit in the maritime museum is a great way to support= a facility that is important to UWF and the community," said National Maritime Museum Campaign Chair Miller Caldwell.

The $100,000 gift to the UWF Foundation will be matched with an additional $100,000 through the state's Alec P. Courtelis program for university facilities.

The keynote session, “Achieving Excellence in Education and Practice,” will be presented by UWF alumna Evelyn Cesarotti, associate professor in the College of Nursing= and Healthcare Innovation at Arizona State University.
