ARGO CAMP

Connecting students with the campus.  It's that simple.  Argo Camp provides a unique experience designed to further integrate students with the campus.  We know that the deeper the connection a student has the more success one can have, so we go out of our way to make these connections for you.  Way out of our way, actually, two hours away from campus.

The three-day, two-night retreat is designed to provide a comfortable, relaxed setting to help students build their network of friends and learn about the traditions and culture of UWF. It is completely optional.  There is a cost for Argo Camp.  The program fills on a first come-first served basis. Not every incoming freshman can participate, but all will be invited as the spring and summer unfold. Argo Camp takes place in mid-August, right before school starts. Argo Camp is a supplemental orientation program designed to provide a different experience than the more formal, New Student Orientation. Despite the optional nature of the event, Argo Camp has already served more than 350 students just in the 4 years it's been in existence.

For more information, check out the Argo Camp website for the program run through the Student Transition Programs in Student Affairs. This fabulous program is another example of the university's commitment to improving student experiences on campus.  I hope you consider allowing Argo Camp to be part of your transition into UWF.
