What You Need to Know
Everyone should apply for financial aid. Period. Students and families which seek financial assistance should apply for ahead of the Priority Application Deadline for financial aid, March 15, for fall enrollment.
Applying for financial aid early is the only way to ensure that you can claim funds that you might be eligible to receive!
Begin the financial aid process in January of your senior year. Yes … that early! Starting in January ensures that you receive consideration for all the financial aid for which you qualify. Waiting until after your prom or senior trip can cause you to miss out on aid.
Don’t wait for a financial crisis or a natural disaster to apply for financial aid. Make completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) every year as routine as registering for classes. When crises come, everyone will turn to financial aid, but only limited resources will be available without your completing the process in advance.
