Handling the 80/20 Rule in Admissions

For the most part, the vast majority of applications for admission do not have any oddities in them.  These files flow right through the admission office without issue, get admission decisions in a timely fashion, and then the final transcripts come through during the summer.  The process works and there are no questions about anything.

Then, there are the others.  This section is designed to identify how we consider different things in the admission process.  Some things we handle routinely, even though the circumstances are not routine to the students themselves, because over the course of 13,000 applications in a given year, many things become routine on our end.  Then again, there are some situations that even we do not encounter but once in a blue moon, and there's no way anyone could simply keep all those procedures in their head.  Please peruse some of these circumstances, and if you feel like there are some procedures to include, let us know.

After all, this section is supposed to exist as a tool for you to provide better information to your students.  We cannot provide that great communication to you unless we know you are in search of it.
