UWF Facilities and Highlights

UWF’s beautiful 1,600-acre campus is also designated as a state wildlife refuge. You’ll feel at ease and like you truly belong amid the many trees and sprawling greens on campus … in addition to these unique features:

  • The Edward Ball Boardwalk
  • Numerous wildlife habitats
  • A huge bay right next to campus
  • A nearby river
  • More than 25 miles of nature trails

This direct access to nature provides the perfect balance for the intense, experience-based learning that goes on in our classrooms, labs and studios across campus. Browse the slideshow below to learn more.

Find Your Sense of Place @ UWF

At UWF, we believe where you are plays a big role in who you are … and who you’ll become. We’re proud of the environmental conscience our students develop. It’s just one of the many factors that make UWF graduates stand out from the crowd.

Thanks to the many recreational options on campus, and in Pensacola as a whole, you’ll:

  • Relax and connect with friends and professors
  • Get exercise to keep your body strong and your mind clear
  • Develop key life balance skills you will use forever

School of Science and Engineering: Shaped like a 0 and a 1, if seen from the cockpit of the Blue Angels flying overhead, this state-of-the-art building houses technology-driven smart classrooms, robotics labs, spaces for student collaboration and even a 3-D holodeck used for classroom simulations.

Center for Fine and Performing Arts: Unlike other campuses that house the arts in individual spaces, members of UWF’s arts community work, perform and show their work under one roof.

Mock Courtroom: Opened in spring 2010, this working courtroom features all the bells and whistles real trial lawyers use in today’s courts. UWF hosts mock trial competitions, presentations by sitting judges and even training for local officials called to testify. It is one of the most advanced, pre-law laboratories available in the country and a great resource for students pursuing careers in law, law enforcement, civil service or politics.

College of Business Complex: Business experience breeds business success. UWF students in a variety of business majors enjoy real-world insights and practice. What you learn one day will indeed show up as an on-the-job challenge later – from accounting and management to logistics and supply chain management. This includes international travel opportunities, where students visit manufacturing plants and transportation hubs in places like China.

International Center: Raising cultural awareness, the center serves as a hub for experience and outreach. Whether you attend events at the Japanese Tea House or want to learn more about study-abroad options, the International Center is the place to start.

Nature Trail Boardwalk: You can use this half-mile loop to exercise and refresh your spirit after a long day of classes.

Health, Leisure and Sports Facility: You do NOT want to miss the climbing wall, Olympic-sized pool, and state-of-the-art fitness facilities when you visit. The HLS also offers kayak and canoe rentals and even allows you to checkout beach volleyball equipment to enjoy your day in the sand. Oh, and did we mention the $40 massages? Need we say more? Well, we will. While other colleges/universities charge sports facility and membership fees to students, UWF does not.
