Award Description
The Disinguished Teaching Award is granted yearly to four outstanding instructors at The University of West Florida. Grants will be awarded to each instructor chosen by the Student Government Academic Committee. The Academic Committee shall use Addendum D as a reference for choosing the recipients.
- There shall be four awards granted yearly:
- one to the College of Arts & Sciences,
- one to the College of Business,
- one to the College of Professional Studies, and
- one floater award to an instructor in any of the University's Colleges.
- All current regular and adjunct faculty members are eligible for the Distinguished Teaching Award.
- The Distinguished Teaching Award recipients shall be chosen from the results of the following four steps:
- Nominations
- Classroom Observations
- Personal Interviews with the Semi-finalists
- Review of Semi-finalists most recent Student Evaluations.
- Faculty members may only receive the award once every three years.
Award Timeline
An award announcement will be made at the 2008 Honors Convocation.
