The Student Disability Resource Center (SDRC) is a program in the department of Inclusion Services and Programs.The SDRC serves as the university’s administrative arm of the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment Act (ADAAA) of 2008 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 to help ensure that students with disabilities are provided the same access to higher education programs that other students have. Accommodations are intended to provide students with disabilities an equal opportunity to achieve the same results that other students have the opportunity to achieve. The ADAAA and Section 504 guarantee equal access, though they do not guarantee success.
SDRC works with students and faculty to help make UWF an accessible learning environment. The SDRC offers a variety of services for students with documented disabilities, including learning disabilities, deaf/hard of hearing, blind/low vision, mobility limitations, ADHD, psychiatric disorders, and medical disabilities.
